This chapter gathers the questions people ask most often, and what to do when something does not behave as expected. If your question is not here, choose Support from the header menu and tell us (35.2).
It shows "Enable Gridtop Add-on In Services". Your account does not have Gridtop, or its subscription has ended. Click Go to Services (2.3).
It says "Could not load your Gridtop. Reload to try again." Your browser could not reach the server as Gridtop started. Check your connection, and reload the page.
It stays on the loading bars. Reload the page. If it happens again, sign out of your dashboard and back in, then open Gridtop again.
Some of my objects have disappeared. Your window is probably narrower than it was, and the objects are waiting in hidden columns; Gridtop will have said how many are off-screen until the window is wider. Widen the window, or choose Auto Arrange (5.5).
I removed something by mistake. Press CTRL+Z (9.2). A deleted file can also be restored from the Receptaculum (9.3).
I can't find my agent's folder. Double-clicking an agent opens its chat. Right-click the agent and choose Open Folder (4.7); press ESC to leave the folder.
A window I broke out has gone. Closing its own window puts it back on Gridtop (10.1). Look for it where it stood, or click its drawer icon.
My agent's answers are poor, or it ignores its instructions. It is probably on Ethocana, running a small free model. Connect a larger model (chapter 13) and move the agent onto it (13.7), or make it the default for new agents in Properties (15.4). For hard questions, raise its Effort (13.7).
My agent says it did something, but nothing changed. Look at the tool trace beneath its reply (19.1). If no tool is listed, it did not act. Check its permissions (15.2), and that its model can use tools: some free models are marked no tools (13.5). A reply marked Unfinished stopped short; ask it to carry on.
My agent tried to put a change live, and nothing happened. Agents without Server Push / Deploy send their changes to you as proposals. Look under Deploy ▸ Proposals in the Editor, on a file of that website (26.6).
My agent stopped partway through. It may have reached its Max Steps (14.1, 16.1), a token limit (21.3), or the end of your provider's allowance, which the LIM meter shows (13.8).
My provider key stopped working. Keys can be withdrawn at the provider, or run out of credit. Connect the provider again with a fresh key (13.2); until then, agents on that provider reply through Ethocana.
An agent's edits do not play in the Web Editor. Open the version again with Preview on its row (not Open), so the page takes up the latest Web Editor (27.1).
I cannot open a file; it says "In the Receptaculum. Restore it to use it." The file has been deleted. Restore it first (9.3).
My upload was refused. Files over 500 MB cannot be uploaded, and nothing more can be added once your drive is full; its size is your plan's storage allowance (22.5).
An upload to a chat is taking too long. Click the × on its UP meter (12.1); Gridtop reports Upload cancelled.
A message went by before I could read it. Messages about something that went wrong stay longer and close only with their ×, and resting the pointer on any readout keeps it on the screen (3.7). The activity log keeps them too (35.1).
A file has appeared twice, one marked "(this PC)". It was changed on your computer and online between syncs, and both versions were kept (39.3).
Windows warned me about the installer. See 37.1.
It will not update. See 41.4, and send us update.log.
The Image button says it is waiting for my PC. Open Autocomputing '26, and install the Image Generator from Media ▸ Tools if you have not (12.8, 24.4).
