An agent that forgets everything between conversations must be briefed again every morning. Gridtop gives agents a memory of their own, and lets you keep copies of agents to restore or share. This chapter explains Memory Banks, where agents' memories and saved Roles are gathered, and how to save and load agents.
Memory Banks, in the app drawer, gathers what your agents remember: the notes each agent keeps about your Gridtop and your work, and the Roles you have saved. At its top are a search field, Find instructions..., and buttons for + Agent and Saved Roles, with chips to sort and group the list: Right-click an item to open it; Add To... copies it to another agent.
An agent's memory is a set of short notes it carries into every conversation: facts about your business, your preferences, things it has learned. The notes are kept in the agent's own file (11.2), so they travel with it. In Memory Banks you can read them, correct them, forget those no longer true, add one with + Note, and copy useful notes to another agent with Add To....

Saved Roles lists the Roles you have defined (16.3). From here you open a Role to read or change it, and give it to another agent.
Your agents are saved as you work (11.2). Save Agent is for something different: keeping a copy of an agent, to restore later, to share, or to start another agent from.
To save a copy, right-click the agent, choose Save Agent..., pick a folder in the drive picker and save there. Gridtop confirms Saved and the file's place.
To load an agent from a copy, drag its .agent file from the File Directory onto an empty cell. A file that is not an agent's is refused: That is not an Autocomputing agent file. If the same agent is already on the grid, Gridtop says it is already on the Gridtop. rather than placing it twice; an occupied cell answers That cell is taken.
You do not need a copy to bring back an agent you removed from the grid. Its file is still in its folder under A:/Agentic Matrix/Gridtop: drag the .agent file from the File Directory onto an empty cell, and Gridtop confirms Placed name on the Gridtop. The agent returns with its memory, tuning and conversation.
